    Introduction to Information Studies

    Sam was the GSI for Introduction to Information Studies in Fall 2022 and Fall 2024 under Cliff Lampe. Each semester, Sam taught two discussion classes of 25 undergraduate students. As a gateway course, students were exposed to important concepts and critical arguments within the field of human-computer interaction. Students used this knowledge to reflect on their own technology use, as contemporary information systems affect everyone in different ways.     Putting the H in HCI

    Sam was the GSI for Putting the H in HCI: Human Perception, Cognition, and Mental Processes in Winter 2023 and Winter 2024 under Julie Hui. This upper-division course examines contemporary theories and findings on human behavior from the social sciences to critique and further the design of interactive systems.     Introduction to Accessibility

    Sam was the GSI for Introduction to Accessibility in Fall 2023 under his advisor, Robin Brewer. As a Master's level course, Introduction to Accessibility prepares its students for an information-related career, marrying readings with real-world examples and hands-on assignments for students who will soon have real-world impacts in shaping the digital information landscape.
